Started out using a Rigblaster PRO to interface my IC-910 to use on our local repeater to relay on our local 2 meter repeater. It worked well using vox with the maximum hold time set in my IC-910 but "wow" so many wires needed connecting.Only problem is, I also needed the rig for weak signal work on 144 and 432. Was looking for a new mobile rig and saw the reveiw in QST about the Kenwood TM-V71A transceiver. I went ahead and bough one with the all the options. It was so easy to set up using audio in and out to the computer and using VOX both ways. The TM-V71A even has crossband repeat along with morse code ID. The V71A faceplate is so small that I leave the main unit hidden away but can easily disconnect it to use in the vehicle when taking trips.
